Thank you for visiting St Francis Xavier Primary School website. One of the most important decisions we make as parents for our children is the school we choose for their education.
St Francis Xavier was founded by the Presentation Sisters in July 1892. The Presentation Sisters were founded in Ireland by Nano Nagle, whose vocation was to educate, both spiritually and academically, the poor children in the city of Dublin. Her drive and belief in what she was doing soon saw it spread to other cities. Nano also cared for the sick and was often seen visiting dwellings at night to offer comfort to those that were ill. She became known as The Lady of the Lantern.
St Francis Xavier is a vibrant, welcoming, learning community enriched by an authentic Catholic tradition. We are committed to developing positive partnerships with parents to provide an education that is relevant, purposeful, creative and full of hope. Our focus is in growing engagement, progress, achievement and well-being for each student so that they may become active, informed, and responsible young people who are full of hope and enthusiasm for sharing thier gifts with the communities in which they live.
St Francis Xavier students have an enthusiasm for learning, a desire to be involved in their community, a willingness to make a difference and a commitment to nuturing their growing understanding of their relationship with God, each other, and all of creation.
Each day is a delight at St Francis Xavier as teachers, support staff, students and parents work collaboratively to nuture each child in their growing understanding of who they are becoming with all their gifts and strengths.
I welcome any families who are considering St Francis Xavier for their child's education to contact the school office to arrange a time to meet with me and be taken for a tour of the school.
Yours sincerely,
Tony Hunter
